Master birds in muraibatu (Copsychus malabaricus) are crucial in shaping the sound character of the birds. Muraibatu birds that are of high class and have the potential to win competitions usually have long and stable rhythmic chirps. The birds are also diligent in producing full-power master bird sound shots.

Judges evaluate champion birds based on their ability to produce a stable sound throughout the competition and release a variety of song rhythms. To shape the character of the muraibatu chirping, stuffing in the form of master bird sounds such as cililin, church, srindit, cotton shooter, and bearded cucak can be provided.

The technique of giving the master sound can be done directly or through audio master bird sounds. Here is a guide to mastering bird sounds:

  • Step A: Place the bird that is ready to be cooked in a room with one or two master birds that are skilled in making sounds.
  • Step B: Cover the cage of the bird with a veil to help it focus on listening and not be distracted by its surroundings. Complete the mastering process within one month.
  • Step C: Once the bird can imitate the sound of the master bird well, introduce another desired master bird.
