Reundeu leaves (Staurogyne elongata) has a variety of medicinal benefits, including cures for diarrhea. On the leaves of reundeu, you can also find globospheric bacteria. Epiphytic bacteria called philospheric bacteria exist on the surface of leaves and generate antibacterial substances. The growth of hazardous bacteria like Escherichia coli, Bacillus subtilis, and Staphylococcus aureus can be inhibited by the filospheric bacteria that are present on reundeu leaves, according to research conducted by Debie Rizqoh and colleagues at FMIPA IPB in 2009 and 2010.
