Rosemary is well known as a herbal plant. Rosmarinus officinalis contains two compounds: piperitone and linalool. Due to its calming properties, rosemary essential oil is used among aroma therapists. Interestingly, because it repels flies and mosquitoes, rosemary essential oil can function as a natural insecticide.
