The excellent laying hens known as Kampung Unggul Balitnak (KUB) chickens can produce 160–180 eggs per head each year. KUB females can lay 65 eggs at the age of 10 months, and they produce 67 eggs at age of 15 months. The eggs bright brown shells range in weight from 36 to 28 grams. Due to the significant regional demand for KUB chickens, the egg production of KUB chickens is divided into hatching eggs and consumption eggs.
