Of the 22 local rice varieties in North Buton Regency, North Sulawesi, research by Muhammad Syukri Sadimantara and colleagues, which was published in the International Journal of Scientific & Technology Research Vol. 8 in August 2019, revealed that 5 varieties of them are classified as white rice, including warara, wangkatema, warema, and waburiburi.
