Partially oriented yarn (POV) yarn can be manufactured from used polyethylene terephthalate (PET) plastic bottles and cups. The fiber gained popularity as a polyester fiber. For the demands of the textile industry, PET plastic can be processed into polyester yarn in some Asian nations, including Taiwan, China, and South Korea.
