Plankton Growing Using Quail Manure

Quail manure can be used to grow plankton as natural fish feed. The trick is to sprinkle the quail manure on the bottom of the pond, then submerge the pond to a depth of 10-15 cm for 10-14 days. Before the fry enters the pond, the water level should be increased to 50-60 cm.

For a pond of 200-300 square meters, 15-20 sacks (25 kg) of quail manure are needed. According to the experience of tilapia farmers in Sleman, Yogyakarta, the use of quail manure to grow plankton, the cost of feeding 5-7 tilapia per kilogram can reduce by as much as 10-12% until the harvest of 2-3 tilapia per kilogram.
