There are many tabebuia trees grown in different places. Members of the Bignoniaceae family have become urban greenery, as can be seen in Surabaya (East Java) and Bandung (West Java). The root system of tabebuia trees does not damage the road structure and they are attractive when in flower.
In the past, tabebuia trees, which start flowering at the age of 1.5 to 2 years, were used as garden ornamental plants. Native to Latin America, Tabebuia can acclimatize to wide range of heights. The woody plant grows quickly and has a texture similar to oak wood. Plants grow to a height of 2.5 to 3 meters after one year. The plant can reach a height of over 15 meters when it is 7-8 years old. Tabebuia can be obtained by spreading seeds from existing trees. Tabebuia starts to produce seeds when the plant is 1.5-2 years old.
