Taiwan Lu Ming rice is considered to be the best rice. Tainan No.16, another name for Lu Ming rice, was created as a result of a collaboration between the Rice House Universal and National Taiwan University by interbreeding using the gene mark selection method between Tainung No.67 and Koshihikari. The selection technique, which shortened the launch of new varieties of rice to about 6 years, was applied in the country of Formosa in 2012.
