Tree Climbing Fish

The betok (Anabas testudineus) is delicious fish found in a swamp or standing water (lentik). The wild population of this fish is in steady declining. In the country, hatchery efforts have not been much successful due to the cannibalistic nature of the fish, which are kept in the rice fields in Vietnam. In truth, if successful, pepuyu or puyu fish, also known as ki nobori uo aka tree climbing fish in Japan, has a promising future in the commercial world.
