Behavior of Little Egrets

In rice fields, little egrets are frequently sighted. Rice fields, together with ponds, mangroves, and rivers, are habitats for the waterbird Egretta garzetta in wetlands. In the late afternoon, the colony bird likes to eat small fish, crabs, frogs, and shrimp. Stepping is used to start the foraging behavior, followed by 3-4 pecks every 10-12 minutes.
